At our final event last week in Brussels, “Reuniting Families – From Access to Integration,” I had the privilege of moderating two panel discussions with experts from diverse disciplines. We explored critical topics, including:

✅ Policies for family reunification
✅ Challenges and opportunities in fostering meaningful integration
✅ The importance of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) during the reunification process
✅ Pathways to dignity, solidarity, and economic participation for migrants

💡The event also marked the launch of the REPAIR online toolkit, a resource for practitioners and organizations supporting separated families. It includes:
🔹 Videos, guides, and informational materials
🔹 Case studies and reports
🔹 Insights co-developed with individuals with lived experience of family reunification

📌In addition, the project’s final report offers key recommendations and findings, including needs assessments conducted in collaboration with diaspora organizations to better understand the challenges faced by separated families.

This journey has been a powerful reminder that family reunification is about more than physical togetherness—it is a cornerstone of wellbeing, belonging, and participation in society.

🤗Thank you to all the partners, stakeholders, and colleagues who made this project possible. Let’s continue collaborating to create inclusive, resilient, and welcoming spaces for all families. 🌍
