At Migration INC., we believe that lasting change begins with meeting one another, staying open to different perspectives, and listening to stories that may be different from our own. Over the past period, we have once again experienced the power of connection between people, communities and organisations.

Internationally, we participated in the General Assembly of the European Network of Migrant Women (ENOMW) in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Together with women from across Europe, we exchanged knowledge, shared experiences and explored ways to strengthen the rights, opportunities and participation of migrant women.

In the Netherlands, we also took important steps forward. During the national COA professional development days, we facilitated interactive workshops on intercultural communication and culturally sensitive approaches to working with Eritrean residents. Participants gained practical tools to better understand and respond to the realities and needs of the people they support.

In addition, together with the Municipality of Hellendoorn and De Welle, we completed a Financial Self-Reliance training programme. This methodology was developed through co-creation and is delivered by professionals with lived experience in the participants’ own language. As a result, the training connects directly to participants’ daily realities and contributes to greater confidence, independence and participation in society.

We were also involved in De Lange Tafel, an inspiring initiative that brought together 1,500 people in a powerful moment of connection, solidarity and shared humanity. It demonstrated how meaningful encounters can strengthen social cohesion and foster understanding across differences.

In the coming months, we will continue delivering training programmes and workshops on intercultural communication, culturally sensitive care and inclusive service provision. We are also looking forward to Refugee Welcome Week Netherlands, a nationwide programme centred on dialogue, participation and meaningful encounters.

Together, we are working towards a society in which everyone has the opportunity to participate, feels heard and has the chance to belong.
